Lucki is one of my favorite artists right now and he has been putting out constantly great music for a long time now. While fans patiently wait for his next full length release, Better Days he drops a six song taster EP titled Days B4 II. My favorite track from the release has got to be the last record “Facts Only”. One of the hardest out
Lucki is one of the best young rappers out right now. The Chicago native has gone through a re-branding of drugs in the past year and this new perc and lean Lucki reminds me of a synthetic drug using Curren$y. I would characterize Lucki’s style now as one of the more lyrical iterations of mumble rap. As Lucki’s tone and delivery is soft and drugged out but very audible and clearly thought through. Lucki just released his long awaited mixtape Watch My Back previously thought to be dropping April 10th. The wait ends tonight as the 18 track project has plenty of gems on it. A major standout is the trance like bounce of “BPrint”. In a recent Interview with Ham Radio Lucki referred to his music as warning against drug use. Songs like “BPrint” prove this point.
