Drake ft Trippie Redd “God’s Plan” (Snippet)

By Emmanuel

I haven’t been excited for a new Drake record for years until today

Rumors of this Drizzy and Trippie Redd collab have been floating around the web for a while now and while we don’t get a taste of Trippie’s verse the initial beta drop and Drake chorus are promising. Drizzy has been in a  slump as of late as What A Time To Be Alive was a Future album and More Life projects did not make the impact he wanted, the reasoning behind his tricky naming it a playlist and not submitting it for the Grammy’s. But as we all should know by now Drake is a nerd and is always tapped in to what is new and hot, Trippie Redd being one of the newest and hottest. Peep the 60 secs of fire below.

Drakes More Life is currently shitting on Views in so many ways. One of them being the fact that there are simply more bangers on More Life. “Ice Melts” is an amazing example of the newfound chemistry between Thugger and Drizzy. Listen below.

DAVE “WANNA KNOW” VIDEO

Original is best

Yea so I like Grime now. One of the premier grime artists out now is Dave and his huge single “Wanna Know”. The song was released five months ago and gained enough buzz in England to warrant a remix from the top dog Drake himself. Although the remix is cool its a net-wide consensus that the original is better. European artists have an appreciation for complexity in their lyrics and melodies that is crazy. It might drive a few listeners off but “Wanna Know” is a smooth introduction to genre for newcomers. Watch the video below.

Is Drake Stealing XXXTENTACION’S Flow?

by Emmanuel Louis-Charles

Well this is interesting. After collecting info from my various sources and listening to the live song Drake previewed,  I would say he isn’t copying the flow directly but he was clearly inspired by X’s rising profile and massive amount of Internet fame. The vocal inflections he uses to make his voice wispy and small are just like how X’s are in the first verse of Look At Me. Too many people use triplet flow variations to say that Look At Me is the one song that made Drake do this. But, if you pay attention to Drake’s career he has been proven as the ultimate hypebeast, and king of wave riding. He is an internet rap nerd and keeps his ear to the streets. At the very least has people that come report to him what’s hot on the web. How else would he have known about Migos, Makonnen, PND, The Weeknd, as well as multiple other big names at times when they were still local stars?

And being that X is probably one of biggest internet stars right now it makes perfect sense that with his impending release from prison Drake hopped on the bandwagon. Honestly I can’t even be mad at him for biting anymore because no one besides me cares enough. This is actually just dope because this conversation is going to expose so many people to my guy X, and that is all I want. Listen to an audio comparison of the two songs below.

FUTURE FT DRAKE ”USED TO THIS”!!!!

Ok so if you read this blog you know I don’t fuck with Drake like that. But despite my gripes he comes with heat often. Last night at midnight he links back up with Future Hendrix to deliver the undeniable smash “Used To This” with the accompanying video. This song is supposed to see light on Futures upcoming Beast Mode 16 project, produced entirely by Zaytoven. I just listened to this song and I already can’t stop. Expect to hear this on the radio waves shortly.
